Mission

The mission of the North Shore and Chicago Chapter is to benefit the members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors, and to advocate for a strong national defense, while providing needed support to the community and its members.

Membership in the North Shore and Chicago Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and their surviving spouses. Please join us by contacting Capt (ACT) Jake Jablonski at (719) 235-7741 or jjablonski2016@gmail.com. During this current campaign, the annual dues (normally $15) are waived for new members.

Chapter Activities

The Chapter holds monthly meetings, March - June and September- December, featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to the members. A special Christmas party is held each December. In addition the chapter supports local JROTC programs and 2 ROTC programs and other veterans organizations. We also support indivdual members with personal services, as desired.

Legislative Issues

Our Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda and we annually invite our Congressional Representative and Senators to speak to the chapter. The chapter is also active in supporting the Illinois Council of Chapters and the IL DVA in various state veterans' issues. We also issue e-mail legislative alerts for both hot federal and state actions.

General Information

The Chapter meetings are luncheon meetings usually held on the third Sunday of each month beginning at 12:30 PM. Locations vary and are announced in the chapter newsletter and at chapter meetings.
