Rear Adm. Robert E. Day Jr., USCG (Ret) is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., where he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He also has received a Master of Science in telecommunication systems management from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.

Day served as Coast Guard chief information officer and commander, Coast Guard Cyber Command, from 2009-14. Day resides in Alameda, Calif.
