Crystal DeVoss Mahany works as a Paralegal for two law firms specializing in special education law. A proud wife to an Army aviator, Crystal has served the military community in many capacities and is committed to serve until and beyond her soldier’s retirement.
While stationed in Germany, she earned her first master’s degree from Norwich University in 2011. Her field of study focused on international policy in response to the War on Terror.
Driven by her passion for disability rights, Crystal went back to school and earned a second master’s degree from The George Washington University College of Professional Studies in 2020, where she was recognized for her commitment to civil rights and awarded for academic excellence. She focused her research on disability rights and special education law. She is deeply committed to continuous service to special education families and the disability community.
A Colorado native, Crystal met her husband at Regis University in Denver. They married after graduation in 2002; her husband joined the Army in January 2003. Crystal firmly believes military life provides incredible opportunities to learn and grow from the unique challenges presented to military families.
