A major change in the TRICARE Pharmacy network may leave beneficiaries looking for a new pharmacy … and those who’ve started their search may have questions about their online resources.

Regardless of the reason you’re considering a change, your first stop should be the Express Scripts pharmacy locator, available at this link. Enter your ZIP code or your city and you’ll find names, phone numbers, and addresses of network pharmacies near you. You’ll also find a link to information on how to transfer your prescriptions should you find a new pharmacy.

The locator does not require any login/password information, and will allow users to search pharmacies by name or view a complete list of those in your area.

The locator now includes CVS locations, which joined the TRICARE Pharmacy network Dec. 15 and added nearly 10,000 stores to the system – though that number will shrink over the next three years. It also still includes Walmart and Sam’s Club locations, which may cause confusion for some beneficiaries after news of that chain’s departure from the network, which went into effect the same day CVS joined up.

However, Walmart and Sam’s Club remain able to disperse some specialty medications under a 30-day grace period. For this reason, they remain in the online locator system although they will not accept new beneficiaries.
